AST Bolt-in Roll Cage Nissan Silvia PS13 Coupé V2

The Bolt-in PS13 V2 is a full roll cage for the Nissan Silvia PS13 Coupé that is mounted in the car at six bolting points. Compared with the V1, you get front reinforcement bars that run through to the bulkhead, so the cage also helps support the front end of the car.

Those extra bars do two things at once. They make the whole structure stiffer around the engine bay, and they give it a second load path to dissipate forces in a frontal impact. For drifting, that mainly means a car that behaves more predictably during quick steering corrections.

Fitting and delivery

The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. The six foot plates are welded to the floor and pillars, after which the cage is bolted onto them in sections. Because of the front bars, the dashboard will probably have to come out on this version, and sometimes part of the bulkhead trim as well. Expect more work than with the V1. This cage is intended for track and competition use; check the regulations of your own sporting body beforehand.

Why choose this Bolt-in PS13 V2?

A thirty-year-old PS13 is not particularly stiff to begin with, especially after a few seasons of drifting. The front bars on this version tie the cage to the bulkhead and take some of the flex out of the front end. You notice it most clearly in quick transitions, where the steering feel becomes more direct. And because it remains a bolt-in, you can take the structure out again with tools.
