Description
AST Multipoint Weld-in Roll Cage BMW Z3 Roadster V2
The AST Multipoint Weld-in Roll Cage BMW Z3 Roadster V2 is a full roll cage for the BMW Z3 with 2-door Roadster bodywork. This Multipoint Z3 Roadster V2 combines ten welded mounting points with front reinforcement bars to the bulkhead.
The cage is designed and built by AST Roll Cages in Spain, for drivers who want both the strongest mounting and a more rigid front end in their open-top Z3.
Key benefits
- Ten welded mounting points provide a more rigid connection than the standard eight-point weld-in cage.
- Front bars to the bulkhead tie the nose of the car into the structure.
- More direct steering response, as the front and rear of the car move less independently of each other.
- Important on a roadster, where there is no roof to resist torsion.
- E355 steel with a 45 mm main hoop and 40 mm for the rest of the structure.
- Custom-designed foot plates made of 3 mm steel.
- Complete weld-in kit with gussets, documentation and a sticker set.
Suitable for
BMW Z3, 2-door Roadster
- BMW Z3 Roadster, the open two-seater built from 1995 to 2002
- Type: multipoint weld-in roll cage, version V2
- Not suitable for the BMW Z3 Coupé. AST does not supply a cage for the closed coupé; this cage is designed around the open bodywork of the Roadster and will not fit the coupé.
- Drifting, track use and rallying

Fitting and delivery
The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. The dashboard area has to be cleared for the front bars, so allow plenty of time for stripping the interior before the welder starts.
Ten welded mounting points and bars reaching the bulkhead turn the Z3 into a car that responds as a single unit.
Why choose this Multipoint Z3 Roadster V2 roll cage?
AST digitises the bodyshell with laser scanners and designs the cage in 3D, so that it fits your car exactly. You can see this in the front bars, which run tightly along the bulkhead without you having to grind or bend anything. The cage is intended for track and competition use; always check the regulations of your own organiser before ordering.
Frequently asked questions
Does this cage also fit a BMW Z3 Coupé?
