AST Multipoint Weld-in Roll Cage Nissan 280Z S30 Coupé V3

The Multipoint 280Z Coupé V3 is a full roll cage for the Nissan 280Z with the S30 chassis in 3-door coupé bodywork, permanently welded in at ten points. This version builds on the V2 and adds door bars that run across the door opening.

That puts steel between the driver and the outside of the car, exactly where an S30 has little to offer from the factory. Built to FIA Appendix J.

Fitting and delivery

Delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. The interior and door cards have to come out before any welding can be done, and the door bars then permanently take up space inside the door. Expect a longer fitting job than with the V1 and V2, and lightweight panels or open doors as the end result. AST supplies the tubes bent to size after digitising your bodyshell.

Classic sports coupés from the seventies were designed before side-impact protection was even a consideration. In drifting, where contact is the rule rather than the exception, that is the first thing you want to sort out. This version combines that protection with the wide load distribution of ten welded mounting points, which on older bodywork makes the difference between reinforcing it and overstressing it.

Do the original door cards still fit?

Usually not. The door bars run through the door cavity, so plan on plastic panels or doors without trim.

No. For this model, AST supplies a single door bar per side, not a NASCAR set with several curved tubes.

Can I choose between X design and V design?

Yes. When ordering, state which shape you want for the rear structure, and AST will build the roll cage in that version. The price is the same for both shapes.
