The Multipoint 370Z V3 NASCAR is a full roll cage for the Nissan 370Z with the Z34 chassis in 3-door coupé bodywork, with ten welded mounting points and NASCAR door bars. AST lists it as a drift version.

At V3 level, door bars are added to the main hoop, the rear structure and the bars to the bulkhead. In this version, those door bars are of the NASCAR type from the outset: several curved tubes that fill the door opening.

Within the multipoint range for the Z34, this is the entry level, and AST only supplies it with NASCAR doors. If you want to go further, V4 NASCAR is the next step.

Fitting and delivery

This kit is made to order, with a delivery time of 15 to 35 working days. Ten welded mounting points mean that panels have to be opened up to reach the points, and a multipoint cage may call for modifications to interior parts. Add to that the door cards, which have to come out for the NASCAR tubes. So expect the car to spend a week or more with the fabricator.

Why choose this Multipoint 370Z V3 NASCAR roll cage?

Anyone getting into drifting who wants to do it properly from the start faces a choice between a heavily specified eight-point cage and a simpler ten-point cage. This Multipoint 370Z V3 NASCAR offers the latter: fewer bars in the interior, but better load distribution and fully braced door openings. For a car used mainly for tandem work, that is a sensible trade-off.

Frequently asked questions

Is there also a V3 without NASCAR doors?

For the Z34, AST does not offer a V3 with regular door bars within the multipoint range; this level is only available with NASCAR doors.

What is the difference from V4 NASCAR?

V4 adds an extra diagonal brace and a harness bar. The Multipoint 370Z V3 NASCAR stops at the main hoop, the rear structure, the bars to the bulkhead and the door bars.

Why ten welded mounting points rather than eight?

With ten points, the loads enter the bodyshell at more locations, so the load on each point stays lower.

Do I need to modify the interior?

It may be necessary. AST states that a multipoint cage may call for modifications to interior parts, and the door cards have to come out in any case.

Is this roll cage homologated?

The manufacturer’s documentation for this item does not list a homologation number. This is equipment for track and drift use; check the regulations of your own sporting organisation.
