Description
AST Removable Full Roll Cage Nissan 350Z Z33 Coupé V2
The Full Roll Cage 350Z V2 is a full roll cage for the Nissan 350Z with the Z33 chassis in 3-door coupé bodywork. Unlike a rear structure, this cage continues into the front compartment, with reinforcement bars running to the bulkhead, so that the entire passenger cell works as a single unit.
The cage is designed to be removable. AST supplies the structure in sections that are assembled with connecting sleeves, which allows it to be passed in through the door and means the cage can be dismantled again later.
This version is intended for the Z33 driver who is moving up from track days to proper competition and wants a cage that provides protection and rigidity not just at the rear, but along the full length of the cell.
Key benefits
- Six bolting points on six 3 mm steel foot plates welded to the bodyshell.
- Continues all the way to the front, with bars to the bulkhead for extra torsional rigidity.

- Fully custom-designed for the Z33 after digitising the bodyshell.
- All-round protection instead of just behind the seats.

Fitting and delivery
The cage is built to order, with a delivery time of 15 to 35 working days. The six foot plates are welded to the bodyshell, after which the structure is bolted onto them. Expect to remove the trim, the carpet and the headlining from the car before you start. AST scans the bodyshell with laser scanners and designs the cage in 3D, so the tubes end up in exactly the same place on every Z33.
Protection along the full length of the safety cell, in a cage you can take back out in sections.
Why choose this 350Z V2 full roll cage?
As soon as you move from open track days to competition, the front section becomes just as important as the rear: in a frontal impact, the cell has to stay intact. This cage ties the bulkhead to the main hoop and the rear wheel arches in one continuous structure. The fact that you can also take it out of the car in sections makes maintenance and transport considerably easier than with a welded-in cage.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a full or a half roll cage?
This is a full roll cage. The Full roll cage 350Z V2 extends into the front compartment and rests on six points, whereas a half roll cage only reinforces the rear compartment and stands on four points.
Is there really no welding required?
That is not quite right. The six foot plates are indeed welded to the bodyshell; only the cage itself is then bolted onto those plates. So plan for welding work.
Does the cage fit a car with headlining?
This version is designed for a roof without headlining. The headlining therefore has to come out before the cage is fitted.
What is the difference from V3?
The V3 adds door bars to the V2 layout, providing more side protection. The V2 sticks to the main hoop, the backstays and the front reinforcement bars.
Is this roll cage homologated?
AST does not list a homologation number for this item. The cage is intended for track and competition use; always check the regulations of your own motorsport organiser before you enter.
What is the delivery time?
The standard delivery time for this roll cage is 15 to 35 working days.
