Description
AST Weld-in Roll Cage BMW 2002 V2
The AST Weld-in Roll Cage BMW 2002 V2 is a full roll cage for the BMW 2002 with 2-door coupé bodywork. This Weld-in BMW 2002 V2 builds on the basic version and adds front reinforcement bars to the bulkhead, so that the front end of the E10 becomes part of the load-bearing structure.
The cage is designed and built by AST Roll Cages in Spain, for drivers who want sharper steering from their classic two-door BMW along with a serious safety structure.
Key benefits
- Front reinforcement bars run through to the bulkhead and tie the front end together firmly.
- Eight welded mounting points provide a rigid connection to the bodyshell along the full length of the interior.
- More precise steering feel because torsion in the nose of the car is reduced.
- E355 steel, 45 mm main hoop and 40 mm for the rest of the structure.
- Foot plates in 3 mm steel, custom-designed for each car so that they sit neatly against the panelwork.
- Complete weld-in kit with gussets, mounting hardware, documentation and a sticker set.
- Unpainted, ready to be finished in your own colour after welding.

Fitting and delivery
The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. Bear in mind that the front bars run alongside the dashboard, so the dashboard and wiring have to be temporarily removed from the car during fitting.
With its front bars running to the bulkhead, the V2 turns the BMW 2002 from a loose-feeling classic into a sharp-handling race car.
Why choose this BMW 2002 V2 weld-in roll cage?
The step up from V1 to V2 lies entirely in the front section. Whereas the basic cage mainly protects the interior, this version also ties the strut towers into the structure. AST digitises the bodyshell with laser scanners and designs the cage in 3D, so that the bars sit exactly along the bulkhead of your 2002.
Frequently asked questions
