Description
AST Weld-in Roll Cage BMW E30 Sedan V5 NASCAR door
The AST Weld-in Roll Cage BMW E30 Sedan V5 NASCAR Door Bars is a full roll cage for the rear-wheel-drive BMW 3 Series E30 with four-door saloon bodywork. This Weld-in E30 Sedan V5 NASCAR is the heaviest specification AST offers for this model: the complete set of bars, welded in at eight points, with several curved tubes in each door.
The cage is designed and built by AST Roll Cages in Spain and is aimed at drivers who use their E30 saloon purely as a competition car and want the maximum torsional rigidity and protection possible within this family.
Key benefits
- Complete set of bars, the highest specification in the weld-in family for the E30 saloon.
- NASCAR door bar design with several curved tubes per door instead of the standard door bar.
- Maximum torsional rigidity thanks to the denser tube structure at the front, at the rear and in the roof.
- Easier entry than with a straight door bar, despite the more comprehensive package.
- Eight welded mounting points for a permanent, play-free connection to the bodyshell.
- E355 steel tubing, main hoop 45 mm and the rest of the structure 40 mm.
- Complete weld-in kit with gussets, reinforcement plates, mounting hardware, documentation, fitting instructions and a sticker set.
- Specifically for the rear-wheel-drive saloon, not for the 325iX with all-wheel drive.

BMW 3 Series E30, 4-door saloon, rear-wheel drive

Fitting and delivery
The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. Because of the number of tubes, this is the most labour-intensive version in the range: allow enough time to strip the interior, and bear in mind that the headlining and door cards will not go back in as they were. AST digitises the bodyshell with laser scanners and designs the cage in 3D, so that it fits your car exactly.
Everything AST has to offer for the E30 saloon, in a single welded-in structure with NASCAR door bars.
Why choose this Weld-in E30 Saloon V5 NASCAR roll cage?
Anyone building up an E30 saloon for a full season of competition only builds the cage once. It then makes sense to go for the full package straight away, rather than having bars welded in later in a car that has already been painted and reassembled. The V5 combines the densest tube structure with the curved NASCAR door tubes, so you get rigidity and side protection right in one go.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between V4 and V5?
The V4 has the main hoop, backstays, front bars, door bars, an extra diagonal brace and a harness bar. The Weld-in E30 Sedan V5 NASCAR goes one step further with the complete set of bars, making the structure denser and more rigid.
Does this cage also fit a 325iX?
No. This is the version for the rear-wheel-drive E30 saloon. The all-wheel-drive 325iX has a different floor and rear axle, and AST supplies a dedicated cage for it.
Is the car still usable with four occupants?
No. At this specification level, the structure extends into the rear of the car and the rear seats can no longer be used. This is a cage for a stripped-out competition car.
Is this roll cage FIA-homologated?
AST does not list a homologation number for this part number. The cage is intended for track and competition use; always check the regulations of your own organiser before you enter.
What is the delivery time?
The standard delivery time for this roll cage is 15 to 35 working days.
