AST Weld-in Roll Cage BMW G82 Coupé V4

The AST Weld-in Roll Cage BMW G82 Coupé V4 is a full roll cage for the BMW 4 Series G82 with 2-door coupé bodywork. This Weld-in G82 Coupé V4 is permanently welded to the bodyshell at eight points, becoming an integral part of the car; the V4 level adds an extra diagonal brace and harness bar to the door bars.

The cage is designed and built by AST Roll Cages in Spain, for drivers who want the maximum rigidity of a permanent structure and are building their G82 as a dedicated competition car.

Fitting and delivery

The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. The weld-in kit should be fitted in a stripped-out car by an experienced welder. The G82 is a modern car with a lot of electronics and airbags, so plan the fitting carefully and have it established beforehand which trim, wiring and cover panels need to come out. This cage is intended for track and competition use; always check the regulations of your own motorsport organisation.

Frequently asked questions

Can I take the cage out again later?

No. The Weld-in G82 Coupé V4 is welded firmly to the bodyshell at eight points, which makes it permanent. If you want a cage that can be removed, take a look at a bolt-in version.

What is the difference from the multipoint version?

The multipoint version is welded to the bodyshell at ten points instead of eight and therefore spreads the loads over more locations.

How well does the kit fit?

AST digitises the bodyshell with laser scanners and designs the cage in 3D based on that scan, with gussets and reinforcement plates in 3 mm steel that are custom-made for each car.

What is the delivery time?

The standard delivery time for this roll cage is 15 to 35 working days.
