Description
AST Weld-in Roll Cage Nissan Silvia S13 Hatchback V4 NASCAR door
The AST Weld-in Roll Cage Nissan Silvia S13 Hatchback V4 NASCAR door is a full roll cage that is permanently welded into the three-door Nissan Silvia S13, with NASCAR door bars instead of the standard door bar. AST itself designates this Weld-in Roll Cage S13 V4 NASCAR as a drift version, and it sits on eight weld points.
A NASCAR door consists of several curved tubes that run deep into the door. In drifting the hit comes from the side, and that is exactly where a single door bar falls short. The door trim does have to make way for it.
Key benefits
- NASCAR door bars: several curved tubes in the door, far more side protection than a single door bar.
- Designated by AST as a drift version: this variant is designed specifically for drift use.
- Eight weld points: permanently welded to the body.
- Equipment level V4: door bars plus an extra diagonal bar and harness bar.
- E355 steel: 45 mm diameter main hoop, 40 mm for the rest of the structure.
- Custom base plates: 3 mm thick steel, designed per car rather than universal.
- Exact fit: the body is digitised with laser scanners before the cage is drawn in 3D.
- Complete weld-in kit: including reinforcement gussets, fixings, documentation, installation manual, sticker set and a weld test piece.
Fits
Nissan Silvia S13, 3-door Hatchback
- Nissan Silvia S13 Hatchback, also known as 180SX and 240SX
- Version: full roll cage, weld-in, V4 with NASCAR door bars
- Drift first of all, plus circuit use
Keep in mind that the NASCAR door bars make getting in and out harder and that the original door trim no longer fits. For a car that still has to drive on the public road, the regular V4 is the more practical choice.

Installation and delivery
The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. The weld-in kit is assembled in the car and welded in place. The NASCAR door bars need extra attention during fitting: the tubes run into the door, so measure beforehand whether your seat position and helmet still clear them. On a S13, check beforehand that the floor panels are sound. Have the welding done by someone with roll cage experience. This cage is intended for circuit and competition use; check the regulations of your own motorsport organisation beforehand, because not every class allows NASCAR doors.
Several curved tubes in the door instead of one door bar: exactly what you want when things go wrong sideways.
Why choose this Weld-in Roll Cage S13 V4 NASCAR?
The S13 may well be the most widely used drift car in the world, and that also means a lot of S13s end up against walls and against each other. The side is where it goes wrong. This version fills the door with several curved tubes and keeps the door pillar in place. You give up comfort and the trim comes out, but in return you get the protection this type of cage was made for.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference with the regular V4?
Only the doors. The Weld-in Roll Cage S13 V4 NASCAR has several curved tubes in the door instead of the standard door bar. The number of weld points stays at eight.
Does the original door trim still fit?
No. The NASCAR tubes run too far into the door. Expect the trim to come out and to finish something off yourself or make a panel.
Can this cage be removed later?
No. This version is permanently welded to the body. If you want a cage that can come out again, look at the half roll cage or the bolt-in range.
What is the difference with the multipoint V3 NASCAR?
That one is attached at ten points instead of eight.
What is the delivery time?
The standard delivery time for this roll cage is 15 to 35 working days, because AST builds every cage to order.
