Description
AST Weld-in Roll Cage Nissan Silvia S13 Hatchback V5 NASCAR door
The AST Weld-in Roll Cage Nissan Silvia S13 Hatchback V5 NASCAR door is a full roll cage that is permanently welded into the three-door Nissan Silvia S13, with the complete bar set and NASCAR door bars. This Weld-in Roll Cage S13 V5 NASCAR is the most heavily equipped eight-point weld-in cage for this model and is designated by AST as a drift version.
You combine two things here: the full structure of the V5, which takes in the roof, bulkhead and rear structure, and several curved tubes in the door instead of one door bar.
Key benefits
- Complete bar set plus NASCAR doors: the most complete eight-point weld-in cage for this model.
- Maximum side protection: several curved tubes deep in the door.
- Designated by AST as a drift version: designed specifically for drift use.
- Eight weld points: permanently welded to the body.
- E355 steel: 45 mm diameter main hoop, 40 mm for the rest of the structure.
- Custom base plates: 3 mm thick steel, designed per car rather than universal.
- Exact fit: the body is digitised with laser scanners before the cage is drawn in 3D.
- Complete weld-in kit: including reinforcement gussets, fixings, documentation, installation manual, sticker set and a weld test piece.
Fits
Nissan Silvia S13, 3-door Hatchback
- Nissan Silvia S13 Hatchback, also known as 180SX and 240SX
- Version: full roll cage, weld-in, V5 with NASCAR door bars
- Drift first of all, plus circuit and competition
This is not a cage for a car that still goes on the road. Most of the interior comes out, the door trim no longer fits and getting in and out becomes a chore.

Installation and delivery
The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. The weld-in kit is assembled in the car and welded in place, and on this version that is the most work of the whole eight-point range. The interior has to be completely empty and the doors have to be open before the door tubes can be fitted. Measure beforehand whether your seat position and helmet still clear the tubes in the door. This cage is intended for circuit and competition use; check the regulations of your own motorsport organisation beforehand, because not every class allows NASCAR doors.
The full structure of the V5 with several tubes in the door: the most complete cage AST supplies for the S13 on eight weld points.
Why choose this Weld-in Roll Cage S13 V5 NASCAR?
Anyone building a S13 as a serious drift car does not want to start on the cage twice. This version combines the maximum amount of structure with the maximum amount of side protection, so you never have to weld anything else in later. The complete bar set keeps a thirty-year-old body stiff, and the NASCAR doors take the hit that in drifting simply comes from the side.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference with the regular V5?
Only the doors. The Weld-in Roll Cage S13 V5 NASCAR has several curved tubes in the door instead of the standard door bar. The number of weld points stays at eight.
What is the difference with the V4 NASCAR?
The V5 has the complete bar set, the V4 stops at door bars plus an extra diagonal bar and harness bar.
Does the original door trim still fit?
No. The tubes run too far into the door. Expect the trim to come out.
Can this cage be removed later?
No, it is permanently welded to the body. For a dismountable solution, look at the half roll cage or the bolt-in range.
What is the delivery time?
The standard delivery time for this roll cage is 15 to 35 working days, because AST builds every cage to order.
