The BC Racing BR coilover kit E30 45mm (part number I-04-BR-RA) is a coilover kit adjustable in height and damping, also simply called a coilover, for the BMW 3 Series E30 Sedan with 45 mm front struts, model years 1982 to 1991, in the BC Racing weld-in version, which requires welding for fitting. The spring rate is 5.5 kg/mm front and 8 kg/mm rear.

The BR series is the all-rounder from BC Racing, intended for an E30 that is mainly driven on the road and does the occasional track day or autocross. The monotube dampers have a linear piston, you adjust the damping in 30 clicks and you set the ride height via the damper body, independently of the spring preload.

For the E30 Sedan, BC Racing makes separate kits for cars with 45 mm and with 51 mm front struts; this kit belongs to the 45 mm version. Because it is a weld-in kit, welding is required for fitting. That work belongs with a specialist.

Fitting and delivery

The kit is vehicle-specific and replaces the original dampers and springs. It is a weld-in kit: welding is required for fitting, and you should have that done by a specialist. On some cars the pillowball top mount at the front requires a small modification to the upper mounting; if in doubt, contact us. BC Racing points out that pillowball top mounts can transmit more noise than rubber top mounts. After adjusting the ride height, have the wheel alignment checked, because camber and toe change as well. The delivery time is 1 to 2 weeks as long as the manufacturer has stock. If BC Racing temporarily has the kit out of stock, you can still order and we will let you know the expected delivery date.
