The BC Racing BR coilover kit E30 51mm True Rear (part number I-32-BR-RH) is a coilover kit adjustable in height and damping, also simply called a coilover, for the BMW 3 Series E30 Sedan with 51 mm front struts, model years 1982 to 1991, in True Rear version and in BC Racing’s weld-in version, which requires welding for fitting. The spring rate is 5.5 kg/mm front and 5 kg/mm rear.

With a standard coilover kit, the E30 stays on a separate spring and a separate damper at the rear, as from the factory. This True Rear kit from BC Racing gives the rear a complete strut as well, with the spring around the damper, and has pillowball top mounts or camber plates front and rear.

The dampers come from the BR series: monotube with linear piston, 30 clicks and a ride height that is set independently of the spring preload. The kit is for the E30 Sedan with 51 mm front struts and is supplied as weld-in; welding is required for fitting and BC Racing specifies that the body shell must be reinforced beforehand. Have that work done by a specialist.

Fitting and delivery

The kit replaces the original struts at the front and the separate springs and dampers at the rear. It is a weld-in kit, so welding is required for fitting; have that work done by a specialist. Please note: BC Racing specifies that the body shell must be reinforced before fitting a True Rear kit. After setting the ride height, have the wheel alignment checked, because camber and toe change as well. The delivery time is 1 to 2 weeks as long as the manufacturer has stock. If BC Racing temporarily has the kit out of stock, you can still order and we will let you know the delivery date.
