The BC Racing BR coilover kit E30 M3 True Rear (part number I-87-BR-RH) is a coilover kit adjustable in height and damping, also simply called a coilover, for the BMW M3 E30, model years 1985 to 1992, in the True Rear version and in BC Racing’s weld-in version, which requires welding for fitting. The spring rate is 6 kg/mm front and 5 kg/mm rear.

From the factory, the M3 E30 has a separate spring and a separate damper at the rear. With this True Rear kit from BC Racing, the rear also gets a complete strut, with the spring around the damper, and you get pillowball top mounts or camber plates front and rear.

The dampers come from the BR series, BC Racing’s all-rounder: monotube with a linear piston, 30 clicks and a ride height that is set independently of the spring preload. It is a weld-in kit, so welding is required for fitting, and BC Racing prescribes a reinforced body shell. Have that work done by a specialist.

Fitting and delivery

At the front the original struts come out, at the rear the separate springs and dampers. It is a weld-in kit: welding is required for fitting, and you should have that done by a specialist. Please note: BC Racing prescribes that with a True Rear kit the body shell is reinforced before fitting. Have the wheel alignment done as soon as the M3 is at its ride height, because camber and toe change as well. The delivery time is 1 to 2 weeks as long as the manufacturer has stock.
