The BC Racing BR coilover kit E91 E93 (part number I-17-BR-RA) is a coilover kit adjustable in height and damping, also simply called a coilover, for the BMW 3 Series E91 Touring and E93 Convertible with rear-wheel drive, excluding the M3, model years 2005 to 2011. The spring rate is 5.5 kg/mm front and 10 kg/mm rear.

An E91 Touring or E93 Convertible is often driven every day, with luggage or with the roof down, but it can certainly sit tighter and lower. The BR series is BC Racing’s all-rounder: made for the road, with reserves for a track day or autocross.

The kit has monotube dampers with a linear piston, 30-click damping adjustment and a ride height that you set independently of the spring preload. With 5.5 kg/mm front and 10 kg/mm rear, the car rolls less and remains usable for long journeys.

Fitting and delivery

The kit is vehicle-specific and replaces the original dampers and springs. We recommend having it fitted by an experienced mechanic. On some cars the pillowball top mount at the front requires a small modification to the upper mounting; if in doubt, contact us. After setting the ride height, have the wheel alignment adjusted again, because camber and toe change as well. The delivery time is 1 to 2 weeks as long as the manufacturer has stock. If BC Racing temporarily has the kit out of stock, you can still order and we will let you know the expected delivery date.

The BR has a linear piston and is made for the road with the occasional track day; the DS has a digressive piston and is more track-focused. For the E91 and E93, both have 5.5/10 kg/mm and pillowball top mounts or camber plates at the front. If you mainly drive on the road, the BR coilover kit E91 E93 is the logical choice.

Does the BC Racing BR coilover kit I-17 also fit an E90 Sedan, E92 Coupe or M3?

No. BC Racing only releases this kit for the E91 Touring and E93 Convertible with rear-wheel drive from 2005 to 2011. For the E90 Sedan and E92 Coupe there are separate kits with part numbers starting with I-03, and the M3 and the xDrive versions are also outside this application.
