The BC Racing DS coilover kit E46 Convertible (part number I-90-DS-DA) is a coilover kit adjustable in height and damping, also simply called a coilover, for the BMW 3 Series E46 Convertible, model years 1998 to 2006. The spring rate is 6 kg/mm front and 8 kg/mm rear.
The DS series is track-focused and builds on the BR, but comes with a digressive piston that makes the difference above all during slow body movements.
Between 0 and 50 mm/s, the range in which the car rolls, dives and squats, the DS damps noticeably more firmly. With fast wheel movements over bumps and kerbs, it actually gives more, so the tyres keep contact. You set the damping in 30 clicks and adjust the ride height independently of the spring preload. The spring rate is 6/8 kg/mm and the dampers have the recognisable satin chrome finish.
BC Racing only releases this part number (I-90) for the E46 Convertible. For the E46 Sedan, Coupe, Touring and Compact there are the kits with part number I-02.

Fitting and delivery
The kit is vehicle-specific and replaces the original dampers and springs. Have a wheel alignment done on the E46 after setting the ride height, so that camber and toe are correct again and the tyres wear evenly.
