The BC Racing ER coilover kit S14 9/5 (part number D-14-ER) is a coilover kit adjustable in height and damping, also simply called a coilover, for the Nissan Silvia, 200SX and 240SX on the S14 platform, model years 1995 to 1999. The spring rate is 9 kg/mm front and 5 kg/mm rear.
It is BC Racing’s 2-way adjustable kit with external reservoir. The ER series is intended for serious track and competition use, where you want to be able to tune compression and rebound independently of each other.
Each damper is a monotube with a dual piston and an external reservoir. That extra oil volume, together with fully synthetic oil with an ultra-high viscosity index, ensures that the damping does not fade as the temperature rises.
This version has a spring rate of 9/5 kg/mm: relatively firm at the front and more supple at the rear, a setup that many S14 drivers choose for traction when accelerating out of corners.

Fitting and delivery
The kit replaces the original struts all round. After fitting, check that the reservoir hoses are routed clear and, after setting the ride height, have the wheel alignment redone.
