The BC Racing HM coilover kit BRZ ZD8 (part number F-36-HM) is a coilover kit adjustable in height and damping, also simply called a coilover, for the Subaru BRZ (ZD8) with rear-wheel drive, from model year 2022. The spring rate is 5 kg/mm front and 5 kg/mm rear.
In the HM series, BC Racing brings two series together: the inverted monotube construction of the RM and the external reservoir with 2-way adjustment of the ER. For the Subaru BRZ (ZD8), that means 30 clicks of compression and 30 clicks of rebound, adjustable separately, in a kit that belongs on the track.
The second piston sits in the external reservoir, which is connected to the damper via PTFE-coated braided steel lines. The dampers are digressive and filled with synthetic oil. Camber plates are fitted on suitable kits; rubber top mounts are optional.

Fitting and delivery
The kit is vehicle-specific and replaces the original dampers and springs. We recommend having it fitted by an experienced mechanic. BC Racing advises periodic greasing for the HM series, as for the RM and ZR series, and recommends them less for road use than the BR, DS, ER or ZX. After setting up, have the wheel alignment of the BRZ checked. The delivery time is 1 to 2 weeks as long as the manufacturer has stock.
