Description

The MTS Street Z3 Inox is a height-adjustable coilover kit from MTS Technik for the BMW Z3 E36 Coupe and Roadster, model years 1995 to 2003. Street is the standard setup from MTS Technik: a good balance between comfort and firmness, for daily use and the occasional track day or drift day.

On the Inox version, the damper bodies are made of stainless steel, so road salt and moisture don’t stand a chance.

Key benefits

  • Stainless steel damper bodies, resistant to road salt and moisture
  • Lower by 15 to 50 mm, front and rear independently adjustable
  • Eibach springs of 50 N/mm front and 46 to 90.1 N/mm rear
  • Gas-oil twin-tube dampers that stay stable even under intensive use
  • hexaCOIL spring perch: the adjusting nut does not seize up during adjustment
  • Front camber plates included, so you can adjust the camber
  • 2 year warranty with no mileage limit

Suitable for

The MTS Street Z3 Inox fits the following versions:

  • Z3 Coupe (E36) (04/1997 to 06/2003): 2.8i, 3.0i
  • Z3 Roadster (E36) (10/1995 to 01/2003): 1.8i, 1.9i, 2.0i, 2.2i, 2.8i, 3.0i

Note for the MTS Street Z3 Inox: not suitable for the M3. Axle load: maximum 830 kg front and maximum 870 kg rear; check your car’s vehicle type plate.

Also suitable for versions with M-Technik (M package).

Fitting and delivery

The MTS Street Z3 Inox replaces the original dampers and springs and fits on the original mounting points.

  • The stated lowering applies relative to the standard suspension. If the car has a factory sport suspension, the lowering will be smaller.
  • When fitting, check the clearance between tyre or wheel and the strut: at least 5 mm. If it is less, use approved wheel spacers.
  • Tip for adjusting the rear: remove the height adjuster, set the spring seat to the new position and refit the adjuster.
  • After fitting the MTS Street Z3 Inox, have the wheel alignment checked, because camber and toe change as well.

Delivery: 4 to 7 working days while manufacturer stock lasts.

The MTS Street Z3 Inox combines stainless steel damper bodies, Eibach springs of 50 and 46-90.1 N/mm and up to 50 mm of lowering for the BMW Z3 E36 Coupe and Roadster.

Why choose the MTS Street Z3 Inox?

With the MTS Street Z3 Inox you choose the setup MTS Technik itself recommends as standard: enough lowering for a tight stance, and a character that doesn’t become tiring on the road. If you also drive in winter or the car is parked outside, the Inox version pays for itself: stainless steel doesn’t rust, so the thread of the height adjustment doesn’t seize up. If you mainly drive in summer, the Gold version is a more affordable alternative. With the included camber plates you set the camber, which with a large lowering means less tyre wear and more grip.

Frequently asked questions

Does this kit also fit an M3?

No. The MTS Street Z3 Inox is made for the BMW Z3 E36 Coupe and Roadster, but not for the M3. MTS Technik has its own kit for the M3.

What is the difference between Street and Stance?

All versions use the same dampers; the difference lies in the Eibach springs and the lowering range: Street (50 and 46-90.1 N/mm) and Stance (80 and 100 N/mm). Street is the standard. Stance is the firmest and the lowest.

What is the difference between Gold and Inox?

Gold has steel damper bodies with a yellow zinc coating, Inox has stainless steel damper bodies. Inox is more resistant to road salt and moisture and therefore costs more. Otherwise, the kits are identical.

How long does delivery take?

The MTS Street Z3 Inox is delivered within 4 to 7 working days as long as the manufacturer has stock.
