This ADAMAT twin-plate clutch with lightweight flywheel has been developed for the BMW 6-cylinder engines of the M50, M52, M54 and S50 family. The kit is designed for drift, circuit and high-boost builds where a standard clutch simply gives up. With a capacity of 1040 Nm, this kit reliably transfers the torque of a big turbo or supercharged engine, even when you abuse it every lap.

The design has been made specifically for aggressive gear changes. An integrated vibration damping system eliminates the familiar clatter and rattle of a twin-plate clutch and reduces the impact between the clutch discs and the flywheel. As a result, the driveline stays stable and the kit lasts a long time, even under extreme loads.

A spring system automatically centres the intermediate plate when the clutch is disengaged. The result is that this twin-plate clutch shifts just as quickly and precisely as a single-plate clutch, while still giving you the grip of two 240 mm discs.

Fitting and delivery

The kit fits the standard crankshaft flange and gearbox of the engines listed; all bolts are included. Allow around half a day’s work, including removing the gearbox. After fitting, check the free play of the release bearing. Doesn’t a twin-plate clutch always rattle?

Many twin-plate clutches do, but ADAMAT has a vibration damping system in the flywheel that eliminates the clatter and rattle.

Can I rebuild the clutch?

Yes, the flywheel’s friction insert is replaceable and the 240 mm discs are available separately, also in 100% Kevlar.
