The BC Racing DS coilover kit E30 M3 True Rear (part number I-87-DS-DH) is a coilover kit adjustable in height and damping, also simply called a coilover, for the BMW M3 E30, model years 1985 to 1992, in the True Rear version and in BC Racing’s weld-in version, which requires welding for fitting. The spring rate is 6 kg/mm front and 5 kg/mm rear.

This is BC Racing’s track-focused True Rear kit for the M3 E30. The DS dampers have a digressive piston that provides extra damping between 0 and 50 mm/s, which keeps the M3 flatter when turning in, braking and accelerating.

With True Rear the spring also sits around the damper at the rear, and there are pillowball top mounts or camber plates at both the front and the rear. Fitting this weld-in kit requires welding, and BC Racing prescribes that the body shell is reinforced beforehand. That work belongs with a specialist.

Have the wheel alignment set after the ride height has been adjusted, because camber and toe change as well. The delivery time is 1 to 2 weeks as long as the manufacturer has stock.
