BMW E82 Coupé Door Panels

These E82 door panels are lightweight aluminium door cards for the front doors of the BMW 1 Series E82 coupé. They replace the original door trim and are made of 1 mm aluminium. The set also includes brackets so you can keep using the original door handle, which means you simply open the door from the inside.

The E82 door panels are intended for anyone building their coupé for drifting, circuit or rally use who wants to make the interior lighter. On doors made of laminate, they also add extra stiffness.

Installation and delivery

Remove the original door trim and use the supplied brackets for the original door handle. Hold the panel against the door, check that the cut-out sits neatly around the handle and mark the fixing points. The fixing method is up to you: rivets or sheet metal screws are recommended. Pre-drill and deburr the holes.

Put a strip of foam tape between the door and the panel to prevent rattling, and check that the window mechanism and the wiring remain free. Work with two people, so you can easily hold the panel in place while drilling.

If you need to get to the window mechanism or the door lock later, you remove the rivets or screws and take the panel off.
