Description
Bracket with Nut for Harness Eyebolt according to FIA, Race/Rally/Drift
This harness bracket with nut is a weld-in plate to which you secure the eye of a multi-point harness. The plate is produced in line with the FIA appendix on the mounting of harness belts and has a welded-on nut with 7/16″ UNF thread. That is the size of the eyebolts supplied as standard with harness belts.
If you are building a race, rally or drift car with bucket seats and four, five or six-point harnesses, you need solid mounting points in the floor or the chassis. You weld this plate in at the right spot, so the harness can transfer its forces to a larger area of sheet metal.

Installation and delivery
The harness bracket with nut has to be welded in. Choose the right mounting points together with your harness supplier: the angles and positions of the shoulder, lap and crotch straps are set out in the manual of your harness and in the FIA regulations. Weld the plate to the underside or inside of the sheet metal, so that the nut remains accessible through a hole in the floor or the chassis.
Have the welding done by someone with experience of safety parts. After welding, treat the weld and the surrounding sheet metal against rust. Screw the eyebolt of the harness fully in and check that it is secure.
You will find all harnesses and accessories in our harnesses and harness mounting category. If space is tight, also take a look at the smaller threaded bracket for harnesses.

A harness is only as strong as its weakest mounting point.
Why choose this harness bracket with nut?
In a crash, a harness belt only holds you in place if the mounting does not tear out. A single bolt through a thin floor panel is not enough for that. A harness bracket with nut made of 3 mm steel spreads the force over a larger area and has the right thread for common eyebolts. This way you create a neat and strong harness mounting point in any car.
Frequently asked questions
What thread does the nut have?
7/16″ UNF. That is the size of the eyebolts supplied with harness belts.
Does the plate have to be welded?
Yes, the harness bracket with nut has to be welded in. Bolting or bonding it is not the intention.
How many plates do I need?
That depends on your harness and the number of mounting points missing in the car. The price is per piece.
Is the plate protected against rust?
Yes, the harness bracket with nut is zinc-plated. Do treat the weld against rust again after fitting.
Does this only fit a BMW?
No. You can weld a harness bracket with nut in anywhere. The list of models shows where it is often used, but you can also create a strong harness mounting point with it in other cars.
