Description
AST Removable Full Roll Cage Nissan 350Z Z33 Coupé V3
The Full roll cage 350Z V3 is a full roll cage for the Nissan 350Z with the Z33 chassis in 3-door coupé bodywork, and the highest specification in the removable range for this car. In addition to the main hoop, the backstays and the front reinforcement bars, you also get door bars in the doors here.
Those door bars are the difference you feel in practice: in side contact, whether against a wall or another car, the structure holds the door opening in place.
This version is removable too. The sections are joined with connecting sleeves, so the cage can go in through the door opening and be taken apart again later.
Key benefits
- With door bars, the level above the V2, for protection in side contact.
- Six bolted mounting points on six welded foot plates of 3 mm steel, custom-designed for each car.
- Front reinforcement bars to the bulkhead, as on the V2.
- Removable via connecting sleeves, so it can be transported and fitted in sections.
- 45 mm main hoop in E355 steel, the rest of the structure in 40 mm.
- The heaviest removable version AST designs for the Z33.
- Supplied unpainted, ready for your own colour or powder coating.
- Complete package with reinforcement plates, mounting hardware, instructions and a sticker set.

Fitting and delivery
Each unit is built to order, with a delivery time of 15 to 35 working days. The six foot plates are welded to the bodyshell; the cage is then bolted onto them. Bear in mind that the door bars run through the door opening, which makes getting in and out slower and often means the door cards have to go. AST digitises the bodyshell with laser scanners and designs the cage in 3D, so the bars sit at the right height along the sill.
The complete removable package: front, rear and along the doors, with the option of dismantling everything again.
Why choose this 350Z V3 full roll cage?
In drifting and club motorsport, contact rarely comes head-on. The impact comes from the side, against the sill or the door pillar, and that is exactly the area a standard 350Z does not absorb well. With door bars added, the door opening becomes a closed frame instead of a weak spot. For anyone who also wants to be able to strip the car down out of season, the removable version is the practical choice.
Frequently asked questions
What does V3 add compared with V2?
This Full roll cage 350Z V3 has door bars in the doors, whereas the V2 stops at the main hoop, the backstays and the front reinforcement bars.
Can I still get in and out normally?
Getting in and out takes longer than without door bars. Plan on a bucket seat, a good driving position and some practice; for competition use, that is normal.
Is any welding required?
Yes. The six foot plates are welded to the bodyshell and the cage is then bolted onto those plates. Have that welding carried out by an experienced fabricator.
Does the cage fit a car with headlining or a sunroof?
This version is designed for a roof without a sunroof and without headlining.
Is this roll cage homologated?
AST does not state a homologation number for this item. The cage is intended for track and competition use; check the regulations of your own motorsport organiser before you enter.
What is the delivery time?
The standard delivery time for this roll cage is 15 to 35 working days.
