The Half Roll Cage 370Z V2 is a half roll cage for the Nissan 370Z with the Z34 chassis in 3-door Coupé bodywork. Where the V1 sticks to a main hoop with backstays, the V2 adds extra tubes, so the rear structure is tied to the bodyshell over a larger area.

This version is also removable. The structure arrives in sections and is assembled with connecting sleeves, which makes fitting in a car with narrow doors much more manageable.

This is the more substantial of the two half cage levels for the Z34 and the logical choice if you do a lot of track mileage or run grippy tyres, but want to keep the front compartment standard.

Fitting and delivery

AST builds this cage to order, with a delivery time of 15 to 35 working days. The four foot plates are first welded to the bodyshell, after which the structure is bolted onto them. That is a job for a fabricator who knows how to deal with a boot floor and a wheel arch. The dimensions come from a laser scan of the car, which makes fitting considerably quicker than with a universal cage.

If you keep going faster on the same circuit, you will notice that the rear is the first to give up. V2 tackles this with extra tubes that spread the forces over more points than V1 does. You stay in the half cage segment, so the car keeps its normal entry and exit and its front interior, while rigidity around the rear axle takes a clear step forward.

What does V2 offer compared with V1?

V2 has extra tubes and therefore more attachment points on the bodyshell. If you notice the rear lagging behind in fast sequences of corners, this Half Roll Cage 370Z V2 is the better choice.

Is any welding required?

Yes. The four foot plates are welded to the bodyshell; only the cage itself is then bolted in place. Fitting without welding is not possible with this version.

Can I take the cage out again later?

Yes, that is what the connecting sleeves are for. The tubes are separate and are assembled inside the car, so the structure can also come out again.

What if my car has headlining?

When ordering, please state whether the headlining is staying in. AST adapts the tube routing accordingly.

Is this roll cage homologated?

The manufacturer’s documentation for this item does not show a homologation number. So treat the cage as track and competition equipment and check the regulations of your own organiser.
