Description
AST Weld-in Roll Cage Nissan 370Z Z34 Coupé V4
The weld-in 370Z V4 is a full roll cage for the Nissan 370Z with the Z34 chassis in 3-door coupé bodywork. The structure is permanently welded to the bodyshell at eight points, which gives the most rigid connection there is: no bolts, no sleeves, just steel to steel.
V4 is a fully equipped specification with door bars, an extra diagonal brace in the main hoop and a harness bar for the harness straps, in addition to the rear structure and the bars to the bulkhead.
AST supplies this as a weld-in kit: the tubes arrive bent to size, together with gussets and foot plates. Assembly and welding take place in the car.
Key benefits
- Eight welded mounting points, the most rigid way to connect a cage to the bodyshell.
- Harness bar as a fixed anchor point for the shoulder straps.
- Door bars and extra diagonal brace, for side protection and a braced main hoop.
- Weld-in kit with gussets, so that the loads are spread across the body panels.
- E355 steel, 45 mm main hoop and 40 mm for the other tubes.
- V design at the rear: the rear structure runs in a V towards the suspension area.
- Lighter than a bolt-in version: AST states 71 kg for this kit.
- Supplied unpainted, ideal because you will be finishing it after welding anyway.

Fitting and delivery
The kit is made to order, with a delivery time of 15 to 35 working days. Welding it in is specialist work: the eight points must be clean, the interior stripped out and the seams fully welded. You will need an experienced fabricator, and the car will be off the road for several days. AST digitises the bodyshell with laser scanners and designs the cage in 3D, so the tubes run tightly along the sill, roof and wheel arch and adjustments are kept to a minimum.
Steel to steel: the most rigid connection between cage and bodyshell you can make in a Z34.
Why choose this weld-in 370Z V4?
A welded-in cage genuinely transforms the car. The bodyshell and the structure become a single unit, so steering corrections come through more directly and the rear end stays more settled. Because V4 already has door bars, a diagonal brace and a harness bar, for many drivers this is the point at which nothing is missing, without having to go straight to a 10-point structure.
Frequently asked questions
Can I take the cage out again later?
Not without cutting the cage out and repairing the body panels. The weld-in 370Z V4 is a permanent structure, and that is exactly where its rigidity comes from.
Why is this weld-in 370Z V4 lighter than the bolt-in?
A weld-in kit does without the connecting sleeves and the heavy foot plate construction. AST states 71 kg for this kit, compared with 210 kg for the bolt-in version.
What exactly is included in the package?
The weld-in kit with the tubes bent to size, gussets, reinforcement plates, bolts, washers and nuts, documentation, fitting instructions and a sticker set.
What is the difference from V5?
V5 has the complete set of bars, making it the most comprehensive weld-in specification. V4 stops at door bars, an extra diagonal brace and a harness bar.
Is this roll cage homologated?
The manufacturer’s documentation for this item does not list a homologation number. Use the cage for track and competition purposes and check the regulations of your own motorsport organisation.
What is the delivery time?
The standard delivery time for this roll cage is 15 to 35 working days.
