Description
AST Weld-in Roll Cage Nissan 370Z Z34 Coupé V5
The Weld-in 370Z V5 is a full roll cage for the Nissan 370Z with the Z34 chassis in 3-door coupé bodywork, and the most comprehensive of the 8-point weld-in levels. Where the V4 stops at door bars, diagonal brace and harness bar, the V5 goes further with the complete set of bars: roof diagonals, extra braces and a fully interconnected structure.
The cage is permanently welded to the bodyshell at eight points. That makes the connection as rigid as it can be, but it also means that after fitting, the car is a competition car and no longer an everyday Z34.
AST supplies this as a weld-in kit with custom-bent tubes, gussets and foot plates. Everything comes from a 3D design based on a laser scan of the bodyshell.
Key benefits
- Complete set of bars, the most comprehensive 8-point package for the Z34.
- Roof diagonals that let the roof panel work as a shear panel.
- Eight welded mounting points for a permanent connection with maximum rigidity.
- Door bars and harness bar already included as standard at this level.
- E355 steel, 45 mm main hoop and 40 mm for the other tubes.
- V design at the rear: the rear structure runs in a V towards the suspension area.
- Only 71 kg according to the manufacturer’s figure, light for so much tubework.
- Supplied unpainted, which makes sense for a structure that still has to be welded in.

Fitting and delivery
The kit is made to order, with a delivery time of 15 to 35 working days. For welding in, the entire interior comes out, including the headlining and the trim around the sills. Allow several days’ work at a fabricator who is familiar with safety structures. Because roof diagonals are included, it is wise to check the position of your bucket seat and helmet beforehand.
The most comprehensive eight-point package for the Z34: this one leaves nothing on the table.
Why choose this weld-in 370Z V5?
On a car that only ever goes on track, the complete set of bars is not overkill but the norm. Every extra tube takes a little more movement out of the bodyshell, and on a relatively heavy coupé like the Z34 in particular, you notice it in how predictably the car goes over bumps. If you want even more attachment points, the 10-point multipoint version is where you end up.
Frequently asked questions
What does V5 add compared with V4?
The complete set of bars, including roof diagonals and extra braces. That makes this Weld-in 370Z V5 the most comprehensive 8-point level.
Can the car still be used on the road?
Practically speaking, no. With the complete set of bars and roof diagonals, this is a competition car; the cage cannot be removed again either.
What is the difference from the multipoint version?
The multipoint cage is welded in at ten points instead of eight and therefore spreads the forces over more locations in the bodyshell.
Does the interior need to be stripped?
Yes. For the eight welded mounting points and the roof diagonals, the panels must be clean and accessible.
Is this roll cage homologated?
The manufacturer’s documentation for this item does not list a homologation number. Use the cage for track and competition purposes and check the regulations of your own motorsport organisation.
What is the delivery time?
The standard delivery time for this roll cage is 15 to 35 working days.
