The BC Racing BR coilover kit E30 Touring (part number I-162-BR-RA) is a coilover kit adjustable in height and damping, also simply called a coilover, for the BMW 3 Series E30 Touring with 51 mm front struts, in BC Racing’s weld-in version, which requires welding for fitting. The spring rate is 5.5 kg/mm front and 10 kg/mm rear.

The E30 Touring is a sought-after classic, and here too the condition of the suspension makes a big difference to how the car drives. BC Racing’s BR series is the all-round choice: monotube dampers with a linear piston, 30-click damping adjustment and a ride height that you set independently of the spring preload.

With 10 kg/mm at the rear, this kit has a stiffer rear spring than the BR kits for the E30 Sedan (8 kg/mm). This kit is also a weld-in version, so welding by a specialist is required for fitting.

On some cars the pillowball top mount at the front requires a small modification to the upper mounting; if in doubt, contact us. Have the alignment checked after the ride height has been set, because camber and toe change as well. The delivery time is 1 to 2 weeks as long as the manufacturer has stock. Does the BC Racing BR coilover kit E30 Touring also fit a Sedan, Coupe or Convertible?

BC Racing approves this BR coilover kit E30 Touring only for the Touring. For the E30 Sedan there are separate BC Racing kits with 45 mm or 51 mm struts. If you have a Coupe or Convertible, please contact us.

Is there also a BC Racing DS alongside the BR coilover kit for the BMW E30 Touring?

No, in our range the BR is the only BC Racing series for the E30 Touring, standard and as True Rear (I-163-BR-RH). We do have the track-focused DS series with digressive piston for the E30 Sedan and the M3.

What is the difference between the BC Racing BR and the BR True Rear for the E30 Touring?

The difference is at the rear: with this kit the Touring sits at the rear on a separate spring and a separate damper, with 10 kg/mm. The True Rear kit (I-163-BR-RH) gives the rear a complete strut with 5 kg/mm and pillowball top mounts, and according to BC Racing the body shell must be reinforced for it.
