The BC Racing DS coilover kit E30 M3 (part number I-24-DS-DA) is a coilover kit adjustable in height and damping, also simply called a coilover, for the BMW M3 E30, model years 1985 to 1992, in BC Racing’s weld-in version, which requires welding for fitting. The spring rate is 6 kg/mm front and 8 kg/mm rear.

An M3 E30 that regularly goes on track calls for damping that keeps the body tightly controlled. That is what BC Racing’s DS series is made for: monotube dampers with a digressive piston, which provides extra damping force between 0 and 50 mm/s, in a satin chrome damper body.

This kit is specifically for the M3 E30, separate from the kits for the regular E30 3 Series. It is a weld-in version: welding is required for fitting, and you should have that work done by a specialist.

Fitting and delivery

This kit is made for the M3 E30 and replaces the original dampers and springs front and rear. Because it is a weld-in kit, welding by a specialist is required during fitting. On some cars the pillowball top mount at the front requires a small modification to the upper mounting; if in doubt, contact us. Have the wheel alignment reset once the car is at its ride height, because camber and toe change as well. The delivery time is 1 to 2 weeks as long as the manufacturer has stock. Choose the DS coilover kit E30 M3 if you often go on track, and the BR if the M3 is mainly driven on the road. The DS damps digressively and more firmly at slow body movements, the BR linearly. Spring rate, clicks and top mounts are the same on both.
