The big brake kit Cruze 5×105 is a complete V-Maxx brake kit for the front axle of the Chevrolet Cruze with PCD 5×105. The kit consists of 330 mm two-piece, grooved brake discs with floating aluminium bells and 4-piston calipers made of forged aluminium, complemented by V-Maxx sport brake pads and vehicle-specific adapters.

Fitting and delivery

The kit comes with V-Maxx fitting instructions: fit the parts according to those instructions and the tightening torques stated in them. The kit is intended exclusively for cars with original steering knuckles. Do not clean it with wheel cleaner, which attacks the aluminium, but with a mild soap. For heavy track use, V-Maxx recommends removing the dust seals from the calipers.

You can extend the kit with a caliper colour of your choice (black, blue or yellow at extra cost), V-Maxx Steelflex steel braided brake hoses for the front axle (460 mm with convex-concave adapter set, set of 2, PTFE inner hose, with TÜV approval), 500 ml of Ferodo brake fluid, the V-Maxx wear indicator set and an extra set of Ferodo FDSR216 DS Performance brake pads; the latter have no TÜV approval. Delivery time: 4 to 7 days.

The difference is not in the first hard stop but in the tenth: with this V-Maxx kit, the Cruze still brakes predictably at that point.

Can I use this kit on public roads?

Yes. The kit has a TÜV certificate according to §19.3 and is therefore approved for use on public roads. This also applies with an officially approved power upgrade; the kW limits in the application list refer to the original power output.

Which kit should I choose if I am unsure about the PCD of my Cruze?

The big brake kit Cruze 5×105 (20 CH330 14) is only for the Cruze with PCD 5×105. If your car has PCD 5×115, kit 20 CH330 10 is the right choice. Both kits have 330 mm discs and 4-piston calipers.

Will I hear the brake pads click?

You may, and it is normal. V-Maxx deliberately gives the pads 1 to 1.5 mm of play so they do not seize at high temperatures. When you switch between driving forwards and reversing, you hear a short click.

Can I drive on the track with this kit?

Yes. The kit is made for repeated hard braking: the aluminium parts dissipate heat quickly, so the braking performance stays consistent even after several fast laps.
