BMW E46 Saloon Front Half Door Panels

These E46 saloon half door panels are lightweight aluminium panels for the front doors of the BMW E46 saloon. They replace only the lower part of the door trim. The original upper part with the door handle and armrest stays in place, so the door still looks finished while you save weight.

The panels are made for E46 drivers who want to make their car lighter for drifting, rally or circuit use, but do not want a completely bare interior. On doors made of laminate, they also help to make the door stiffer.

Installation and delivery

For fitting the E46 saloon half door panels, the original door trim has to be shortened: the lower part comes off and the upper part stays on the door. Saw or cut the original trim along the line where the aluminium panel meets it. Then hold the panel in place, mark the holes and fix it. How you fix it is up to you; rivets or sheet metal screws are recommended.

Finish the cut edge of the original trim neatly and check that the window mechanism, the wiring and the door lock are still clear. A strip of foam tape between the door and the panel prevents rattling.
