Description
AST Weld-in Roll Cage Nissan 370Z Z34 Coupé V4 NASCAR door
The Weld-in 370Z V4 NASCAR is a full roll cage for the Nissan 370Z with the Z34 chassis in 3-door Coupé bodywork, with eight welded mounting points and NASCAR door bars. AST explicitly lists this item as a drift version.
The difference from the regular V4 lies in the door. Where the standard version has a single straight door bar, this one has several curved tubes that bow outwards and fill the door opening. It is the layout that became common in American oval racing and is popular in drifting because of the risk of contact from the side.
Otherwise, this is the V4 level: door bars, an extra diagonal brace in the main hoop and a harness bar, on top of the rear structure and the bars to the bulkhead.
Key benefits
- NASCAR door bars, several curved tubes that fill the door opening.
- Designed for drift use, where side contact can never be ruled out.
- Eight welded mounting points for a permanent, rigid connection to the bodyshell.
- Harness bar and extra diagonal brace as standard at this level.
- E355 steel, 45 mm main hoop and 40 mm for the other tubes.
- V design at the rear, directed towards the rear suspension area.
- Custom-made from a laser scan, so the curved door bars genuinely fit this door.
- Supplied unpainted, ready for your own colour once welded in.

Fitting and delivery
The kit is made to order, with a delivery time of 15 to 35 working days. The NASCAR door bars extend into the door opening, so the door card has to come out and the trim is often replaced with a flat panel. Getting in means climbing over the bars; set up your bucket seat, seat brackets and harnesses accordingly before you start welding.
The door opening completely filled with curved tubing: exactly what drifting demands of a door bar.
Why choose this Weld-in 370Z V4 NASCAR roll cage?
In drifting, you run close together and with lots of steering angle, which makes contact along the flank a real risk. A single straight door bar can only absorb so much of that. Several curved tubes spread an impact over a larger area and keep the door further away from the driver. Anyone who drives tandem almost always opts for this version.
Frequently asked questions
What are NASCAR door bars?
Several curved tubes in the door instead of a single straight bar. They bow outwards and fill the door opening, so a side impact is spread over more tubing.
Can I keep the original door card?
Not without modification. The bars run through the space where the door card sits, so in practice a flat panel or modified trim goes in instead.
Is this the same cage as the regular V4?
It is a separate item with its own part number. The Weld-in 370Z V4 NASCAR has the same layout as the regular V4; only the door bars differ.
How do I get in?
Over the door bars, feet first. That is the case with every NASCAR version and comes with this type of construction.
Is this roll cage homologated?
The manufacturer’s documentation for this item does not list a homologation number. The cage is intended for track and drift use; check the regulations of your own sporting organisation.
What is the delivery time?
The standard delivery time for this roll cage is 15 to 35 working days.
