The BC Racing BR coilover kit 1M Coupe (part number I-21-BR-RA) is a coilover kit adjustable in height and damping, also simply called a coilover, for the BMW 1M Coupe (E82, wide body, 3.0 turbo), model years 2011 to 2012. The spring rate is 6.5 kg/mm front and 12 kg/mm rear.
The 1M Coupe is the wide-body version of the E82 with a 3.0 turbo engine, and BC Racing supplies a dedicated kit for it. This BR kit is the all-round choice: made for the road, with reserves for a track day or autocross.
You get monotube dampers with a linear piston, 30-click damping adjustment and a ride height that you set independently of the spring preload. The spring rate is 6.5 kg/mm front and 12 kg/mm rear.

Fitting and delivery
The kit is vehicle-specific and replaces the original dampers and springs. We recommend having it fitted by an experienced mechanic. On some cars the pillowball top mount at the front requires a small modification to the upper mounting; if in doubt, contact us. Plan a wheel alignment after the adjustment, because camber and toe change with the height. The delivery time is 1 to 2 weeks as long as the manufacturer has stock. No, this kit is only for the 1M Coupe with the wide body and the 3.0 turbo engine, model years 2011 to 2012. For the other E82 Coupes, such as the 135i, and for the E81 and E87, BC Racing has the kits starting with I-11. The E88 Convertible has the BR kit I-149-BR-RA.
What is the difference between the BC Racing BR and DS coilover kits for the BMW 1M Coupe?
The BR has a linear piston and is made for the road with the occasional track day, the DS has a digressive piston and is more track-focused. For the 1M, both kits have springs of 6.5/12 kg/mm and pillowball top mounts at the front. If your 1M is mainly driven on the road, the BR coilover kit 1M Coupe is the logical choice.
