The BC Racing BR coilover kit Z4 E85 (part number I-12-BR-RA) is a coilover kit adjustable in height and damping, also simply called a coilover, for the BMW Z4 E85 with rear-wheel drive, model years 2002 to 2008. The spring rate is 5 kg/mm front and 8 kg/mm rear.

The E85 is the Roadster generation of the first Z4. With this BR kit you give it a tighter suspension that you set up yourself: monotube dampers with a linear piston, 30 clicks for compression and rebound together and a ride height that you set via the damper body, independently of the spring preload.

The BR is the BC Racing series for the road with the occasional track day or autocross. The Z4 turns in more directly and rolls less, but remains usable for a long drive with the roof down.

Fitting and delivery

The kit is vehicle-specific and replaces the original dampers and springs of the Z4 E85. We recommend having it fitted by an experienced mechanic. On some cars the pillowball top mount at the front requires a small modification to the upper mounting; if in doubt, contact us. After setting the ride height, a wheel alignment is required. The delivery time is 1 to 2 weeks as long as the manufacturer has stock. If BC Racing temporarily has the kit out of stock, you can still order; we will then let you know when it is coming.

BC Racing UK lists this kit for the Z4 E85 with rear-wheel drive, model years 2002 to 2008, and does not mention the Coupe E86. If you drive a Coupe, contact us before ordering.

What is the difference between the BC Racing BR and DS for the BMW Z4 E85?

The BR coilover kit Z4 E85 has a linear piston and is made for the road with the occasional track day, the DS has a digressive piston and is more track-focused. For the Z4 E85 both have a spring rate of 5/8 kg/mm and 30 clicks.
